Damien Chazelle Sets Next Film at Paramount
Award-winning filmmaker Damien Chazelle has teamed up once again with Paramount Pictures for his next big project.
Under the banner of Wild Chickens Productions, a company founded by Chazelle and Olivia Hamilton, the acclaimed director will both write and direct the upcoming feature film. While specific plot details are being closely guarded, Paramount has made it clear that this project is a top priority.
Chazelle's collaboration with Paramount began with a first-look deal signed in 2022, and this new film falls under that agreement. Additionally, Chazelle is also involved as a producer in another Paramount project, "Heart of the Beast," directed by David Ayer.
The last collaboration between Chazelle and Paramount was on the Hollywood epic "Babylon," featuring stars like Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. Despite its ambitious scale, the film's box office performance was modest, grossing $63 million globally against an $80 million budget.
The announcement of Chazelle's new project came during Paramount's presentation at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, where they unveiled an exciting lineup of upcoming films, including a new Scary Movie installment and an R-rated live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles feature.
Chazelle, known for his breakout film "Whiplash" and other notable works like "First Man" and the Netflix series "The Eddy," continues to be represented by WME.
